When someone asks me: ‘Why, Viktor, did you decide to sacrifice a part, most part of your life for Palestine? How did you leave a comfortable life, to go to Gaza?’ I always answer:

‘ How possible to do otherwise.. How’s possible to stay in Italy, how’s possible to live a life of indifference in your own protected world, and pretend that you don’t know that on the other side of the Mediterranean Sea, your neighbors - because Italy is just on the other side of the Mediterranean Sea and Gaza is a neighboring country of Italy and Europe - are suffering such a deep injustice?

I am much more surprised that people pretend not to see, not to hear the suffering nearby them, of their surprise of me, that I left everything to come here to suffer together with Palestinian people. ‘
